Description
Manganese Greensand is a specialized granular filtration media used in water-treatment systems for the oxidation and removal of dissolved iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide. The active media surface supports oxidation of these contaminants so the resulting precipitates can be retained in the filter bed and removed during backwashing.
It is commonly applied in groundwater, borewell-water and industrial filtration systems. Correct pretreatment, oxidant selection, service flow and regeneration/operating method are important for reliable performance.
